      The first poster is dead wrong. Percentages do not apply. An amount equal to the taxpayers standard deduction and exemptions prorated by the length of the pay period is all that is exempt. Regardless of what gross pay is, a single person paid biweekly would take home $171.89. A married person with a spouse and two children would take home $1,000 biweekly.

      They Can NOT take more than 55% of your check with dependants or 65% if there are no dependants.

      Max is correct about it not being a percentage, but he gives wrong figures. See the link to Publication 1494 in his response.
